3rd Annual Long Sands 5K Race, Walk & Kids Fun Run – is October 8, 2016

Options include: a 5KM Running Race, 5KM Walk or 2KM Kids Fun Run…. ALL ON THE BEACH!!! Totally unique, fun and for a great cause!

Proceeds from our fundraising event will help fund our non-profit educational youth, middle school and community cross-country (nordic) ski programs and help us continue to provide local ski grooming in the Greater York Region.
Day-of Race Registration: AT REGISTRATION SITE. $35 PER ENTRY ALL CATEGORIES (NO T-SHIRT FOR “DAY-OF” REGISTRATION). LIMITED Qty of Long-Sleeve T-Shirts available for purchase – day of race!
FINAL RACE INFORMATION EMAIL WILL BE SENT OUT WEEK PRIOR TO EVENT TO ALL REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS.
Packet/Race Number Pick-up Location and Time:
Morning of Oct. 8th, 2016. 7:30-8:30 am (time subject to change)
ON LONG SANDS BEACH near the Bathhouse.
Race Start Times: The 5KM RACE starts at 9:30 am. Kids Fun run and Walk to follow!
Start & Finish: Near the Long Sands Bathhouse, Long Sands Beach, York, Maine.
Parking: It is recommended that Participants Park at the Registration Site – along Long Sands Beach – you may park on the right-hand side of the road. Parking is free.

5K Race Awards will be given to the Top Male & Female Runners. Also, given to the top three male and female runner for the following age catagories: under 10, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79.

WEATHER:
Race will happen rain or shine. October weather is variable so please dress appropriately. Packing a dry change of clothes or dry layers for after the race to leave near the finish area is recommended. Race Director/s and volunteers are NOT responsible for your personal belongings.
In the event of forecasted thunderstorms, hail, lightning or unforseen weather event deemed by the Race Director as dangerous for the participants – the event/s will be cancelled and participants notified by email. NO REFUNDS will be given.

Agamenticus Ski Club is a community-based ski club committed to meeting the needs of a wide range of skiers – including youth, junior, senior and master skiers. Our mission is to support and build a strong community through educational programs to promote health, fitness and fun through skiing.
The goal of Agamenticus Ski Club is to develop a broad range of programs, events and training opportunities to support recreational skiers and racers throughout the Greater York Region.

Thank you to all who participated and donated in our first ever Virtual Fundraiser – Summit to Sea August 2020 Challenge. Below are top mileage finishers of each category!
